This year, Landstar made a few changes to provide more personalized service and enhance communications between business capacity owners (BCOs) and the staff in departments that work closely with them. Each BCO has been domiciled to one of the seven Field Operations Centers throughout North America.

When independent Landstar business capacity owners (BCOs) and agents go above and beyond, their efforts are recognized with Landstar’s Star of Quality award.

Landstar BCO DeWayne Walker has been named a “Hero of the Highway” by the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA) for his actions on a cold night in February 2021.

Each month, deserving BCOs and agents earn Landstar’s Star of Quality Award for the outstanding efforts they make every day. Our thanks and praise to these members of the Landstar network, who represent the best in the freight transportation industry.

The 3,500-pound stainless steel structure named Emergence first had to hitch a ride across North America. At 18-feet in diameter, with 50 engineered thermoformed acrylic rods that glow with colored light, the piece could not travel on just any trailer or with just any carrier.

This year Landstar is celebrating 174 business capacity owners (BCOs) for their safety records and professionalism behind the wheel. BCO is Landstar’s term for an independent owner-operator who provides transportation capacity to a Landstar motor carrier under an exclusive lease agreement.
