Landstar System, Inc. was honored with an Elevate Award at the Women Executive Leadership (WEL) 2022 Corporate Salute event on Oct. 20, 2022, for helping to accelerate the advancement of gender diversity in its boardroom.

Currently, three of the seven members of Landstar’s board of directors are women, including Chairman Diana M. Murphy, Homaira Akbari and Teresa L. White.

According to WEL, the Elevate Awards recognize Florida-headquartered companies that have increased the number of females on their boards since WEL’s census in 2017. Using the most recent Securities and Exchange Commission filings, including annual reports and proxy statements, WEL evaluates the number of women on boards and in executive positions. Landstar is one of 54 companies to receive the award this year.

Women Executive Leadership, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose primary purpose is to increase the number of women serving on corporate boards and in the executive suite in Florida-based companies through advocating, educating and connecting accomplished leaders.
