Independent Landstar Agent Bobby Schlieske shares how he uses the data presented in the agent analytics tool to run and grow his business. Right away, we started saving time. We aren’t waiting weeks to reconcile our commission statements, draw up reports or analyze freight bill details.
I mainly use agent analytics as a business overview. I check it to see if we are hitting our goals and trending in the right direction.
Yes, agent analytics helps me stay on top of my business even while out of the office. As long as WiFi or an internet connection is available, I can keep track of load counts, our revenue and customer trends.
When looking up customer-specific trends, we compare the revenue and shipment count to year-over-year data. This allows us to identify missed opportunities and plan ahead if one of our customers is approaching a historically high-volume freight season.
Entrepreneurs can lose sight of their business if they aren’t directly in the middle of the daily operations – negotiating with customers, talking to drivers on the phone, etc. But agent analytics has helped me keep an eye on my staff and customers even when I’m not in the office. I’m not spending as much on administrative costs to run reports, which means I can spend more money investing in the people that’ll help the business make more money.
