As Landstar’s “ambassadors of safety,” Landstar Safety Officers (LSOs) are the representatives from each independent agency at the forefront of Landstar’s customer safety initiatives. The LSO, who embraces all aspects of Landstar’s safety-first culture, is the customer’s point of contact at the independent Landstar agency for safety-related questions.

May 2020 LSO of the Month: Alexandra Aguero

Landstar Safety Officer Alexandra Aguero was named the May 2020 LSO of the Month. Aguero and the staff at Axtecastar, LLC in Laredo, Texas, support Landstar’s safety culture by practicing complete and accurate dispatch, regularly dialing into the Safety Thursday Conference Call and attending annual LSO meetings. Aguero and her team’s commitment to safety is evident with zero preventable accidents and cargo claims. Congratulations to Aguero and team!

June 2020 LSO of the Month: Brian Weiss

Congratulations to Brian Weiss and his team at Premier Distribution Inc. in Naples, Florida. Weiss was selected as the June 2020 LSO of the Month for his independent agency’s excellent safety record. The agency has no preventable accidents with almost 1.5 million BCO miles and no cargo claims on nearly 3,500 loads. Weiss and his staff support Landstar’s safety culture by participating in the Safety Thursday Conference Call every month and have attended every LSO meeting in south Florida the past three years.

July 2020 LSO of the Month: Jorge Farinhas

Jorge Farinhas was selected as the July 2020 LSO of the Month for the efforts made to improve and fine tune operations at Farinhas Logistics LLC, in Northhampton, Pennsylvania. Farinhas and the agency team created special instructions for the complete and accurate dispatch system at the agency - which improved safety and communications for Landstar business capacity owners (BCOs) hauling customer freight.
