The National Safety Council (NSC) recognized Landstar Transportation Logistics, Inc. for “Remarkable Results” in the organization’s awards for Excellence in Driver Safety Training for “leading in their field in building safer drivers.”

Before arriving at Landstar System’s headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida, 13 students from the Eisenhower School of National Security and Resource Strategy had a specific request regarding their upcoming educational experience with Landstar: they wanted to speak with Landstar business capacity owners (BCOs) and see the inside of a truck firsthand.

“We had one month to arrange the transport of the Nighthawk from the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works® division to two locations,” explains Mike Thompson, agency owner of D&M Transportation Inc.

Seasoned in coordinating the transport of high-security freight, independent Landstar Agent Lori Brackus at CJXL Transport (LPB agency) in Conifer, Colorado, started planning for the spacecraft’s move months in advance.

Months before the move, NASA turned to Landstar Agent Jim Robinson who put his team at Specialized Transportation (STR) into motion to start coordinating the confidential move.

History was made the day SpaceX successfully launched Falcon 9, a rocket designed for the safe, reliable transport of satellites and spaceships into orbit.
